Before the preparation begins, Barbie personally chooses specific good thick gourds for her art pieces. The artist purchases her gourds directly from the "Gourd Society" -- experts in the timing and nurturing required to produce gorgeous gourds -- the artists perfect foundation - cleaning.
Then the planning process beings. Preparing the outside and the inside of the gourd for its beautification process takes time.
After the detailed outer cleaning, the gourds are thoroughly rinsed and set aside to dry at least two days before the artist begins to "do her thing!" process
Decisions:
l. Which cloth to use?
2. What picture layout works best with this particular gourd shape?
3. Then, the layout itself of the finished picture!
After these steps are completed, holes are cut in the gourd -- if the artist decides to create a hanging birdhouse or art piece that requires holes for the leather strap used to hang the finished original art piece.
